AgroParisTech Launches its First Report on Greenhouse Gas Emissions
June 08 2023On Thursday, June 8, 2023, AgroParisTech released its first report on greenhouse gas emissions (BEGES).
This initiative is a continuation of the work carried out by the French Institute for Life and Environmental Sciences and Industries (Institut National des Sciences et Industries du Vivant et de l’Environnement) to combat climate change and respond to the challenges of environmental transition. The AgroParisTech BEGES report is an exhaustive assessment of the greenhouse gas emissions generated by the institution’s activities, ranging from research work to administrative tasks and educational activities. This is a key stage in the transition process toward a reduced carbon footprint and the responsible management of resources.
The results of the report will provide a solid basis for implementing additional measures to reduce our environmental impact that are adapted to the specific needs of the institution.
The AgroParisTech BEGES report was made possible through a collaboration between the consulting firm NEPSEN and all the departments, offices, and educational and research departments at the eight sites that make up the institution. It is consistent with AgroParisTech’s CSR policy, which has been in place since December 2022.
Hélène Bluteau, Head of Assessment and Social and Environmental ResponsibilityAgroParisTech is committed to being a key player in the ecological transition. The BEGES report is an important step toward understanding our environmental impact and enabling us to take real-world measures to reduce our greenhouse gas emissions. This work will also allow us to assess the best practices that are already in place in our institution, such as the Grignon Positive Energy program at the experimental farm or the experimental campus in Montpellier.
