Student Aid
March 28 2022To start a worry-free academic year while managing daily expenses, financial support is available in the form of need-based scholarships.
These scholarships are intended to help beneficiaries at the end of their secondary studies to embark on the path of higher education which, without this financial aid, they would have to give up due to their family or financial situation.
Conditions for Obtaining a Need-Based Scholarship
-
These scholarships are available to European students registering with a higher education institution for initial agricultural studies, whether in a public institution or a private one with a contract with the Ministry of Agriculture;
-
Scholarship recipients must meet attendance requirements for formal lectures, practical seminars, lab sessions, and mandatory internships;
-
The first time students apply for need-based aid, they must be under twenty-eight years of age on October 1 of that academic year;
-
From age 28 onward, students who wish to continue receiving a need-based scholarship must not interrupt their studies.
Need-based scholarships are dependent on parental resources and expenditures, as well as on the student’s expenditures. They are calculated according to a national scale and granted for a given academic year.
Students fall into one of eight tiers depending on the resource bracket they belong to:
-
tiers 0.5 to 7: students are exempt from paying registration fees and receive a monthly stipend.
Simulations can be done to have all the information on the feasibility of an application, by visiting: www.cnous.fr/bourses/simulateur/
Students not awarded a scholarship who are experiencing lasting financial difficulties, along with students, whether or not they have a scholarship, experiencing serious difficulties, may receive specific financial aid (Student Welfare Fund, yearly specific aid, one-time specific aid).
Please get in touch with the director of the DEP in which you will be pursuing your future studies at the start of the academic year.
Submitting a Student Welfare Application in the Early Years of Engineering Studies
When submitting a Student Welfare Application (DSE), the Grignon engineering program will appear after the student has selected “Supérieur conduisant à un niveau master” (“Higher education leading to a master’s level”) then “Formation d’ingénieur” (“Engineering program”), and Year 3, 4, or 5, depending on your situation. Follow the same steps for Years 2 and 3.
