AgriO French Tech Seed

The French Tech Seed Fund aims to boost private investment in technological firms less than 3 years old. Labeled a business provider by Bpifrance, the French Tech Seed AgriO consortium is designed to support DeepTech startups in the farming, agribusiness, or agrifood sectors.

The AgriO French Tech Seed label is aimed at companies in the post-ripening phase, including startups under 3 years. Businesses focused on technologically intensive innovations in the farming, agribusiness, or agrifood sectors and with solid intellectual property are particularly well suited for the label. These startups must have completed a first round of fund-raising amounting to at least €25K with knowledgeable investors in the last three months (or be in that process).  

Good to know: businesses that have yet to identify investors can still apply. They will be put in contact with the AgriO network of investors.

An admissions committee made up of AgriO partners will assess the eligibility of applicant companies, the strength of their application, and will identify the project’s positive and negative points. 

Successful applicants may be offered customized AgriO support to enable them to enter into compliance with the requirements of the label. To make this possible, the admissions committee recommends action/support plans that are most adapted to a company’s team, so it can make the best impression with investors. 

When the company is mature enough, it can appear before the labeling committee. If it is selected, the AgriO consortium sends a recommendation letter confirming its receipt of the French Tech Seed label. 

When they meet the criteria, young companies may receive the AgriO French Tech Seed label. This provides access to Bpifrance funding in the form of convertible bonds of up to 2 for 1 of funds raised below €250K. 

With the AgriO French Tech Seed label, companies also receive support before and after receiving Bpifrance funding. This customized support is offered both by the AgriO consortium and by its network of professionals, from the maturation to the investment phase.
