Supporting changes in your professions - Committee for Prospective Analysis
April 22 2022Since 2015, through its department of partnerships, AgroParisTech has aimed to establish prospective analyses by 2025 on the evolution of professions and skills in several of the school’s strategic fields.
These efforts are twofold.
The first step involves an external consultation of a Committee for Prospective Analysis (CAP) comprising external experts, a committee presided by one of these experts led by two people from our school, a teacher researcher involved in the relevant field, and an engineer assigned by the department in charge of partnerships participating in the general CAP approach.
In the second step, an internal task force made up of teacher researchers representing the school’s departments takes CAP conclusions on board with a view to considering how courses will evolve. CAP and their scope have been defined and approved by the school’s Coordination and Orientation Committee (CCO) and by the Management Committee (CoDir).
The Forestry CAP launched this initiative, followed by the Green Chemistry CAP and the Health CAP.
The purpose of the Green Chemistry CAP was to communicate to students about the sector’s careers, to recruiters about our school’s training offer, and to have a tool for continuous training readjustment (creating and modifying courses).
Research undertaken as part of this CAP generated a report and established a list of executive green chemistry careers in connection with AgroParisTech courses. The CAP has supported the launch of a European Master’s Degree (BIOCEB).
The purpose of the Forestry CAP was to participate in reviewing AgroParisTech’s training offer tailored to forestry executive careers.
Research undertaken as part of this CAP generated a report and the establishment of a list of executive forestry careers in connection with AgroParisTech courses.
The purpose of the Health CAP was to identify and adjust AgroParisTech’s training offer to meet demands and the evolution of careers inherent to the human health sector.
Research undertaken as part of this CAP generated a report and established a list of executive health careers in connection with AgroParisTech courses.
The aim of the Committee for Prospective Analysis (CAP) on Water was to identify changes in professions involving water and associated skills requirements to anticipate the need to adapt AgroParisTech programs in this field and to inform future decisions.
Research undertaken as part of this CAP generated a report and established a list of executive water careers in connection with AgroParisTech courses. The CAP led to the creation of a 3rd-year major in the engineering program: Water and Farming Interaction Management in the Context of Global Shifts (GEAC).
