International Strategy
February 11 2022Firmly rooted in the European Higher Education and Research Area, AgroParisTech strives to be a major academic player on the international stage in the field of life and environmental sciences and technology, renowned for the quality of its teaching and research.
The international policy of AgroParisTech was set out in a reference document approved by its board of directors on 23 March 2015. This policy seeks to address three key interdependent objectives: to reinforce our attractiveness, to reinforce our skills, and to make the most of successful internationalisation reflected in all of the institution’s missions.
To this end, AgroParisTech has set itself three strategic goals :
- to structure its international partnerships (link: International/International partnerships)
- to develop factors contributing to its attractiveness;
- to internationalise its courses and campuses.
To meet these goals, AgroParisTech can rely on a well-established reputation, a dense network of partnerships and extensive experience in mobility and project management.
The pursuit of our strategic goals takes the form of developing international partnerships and courses, implementing European projects for education (link: International/European projects for education), research and innovation (link: International/European projects for research and innovation), the recruitment of foreign students (link: International/Come and study at AgroParisTech), a high level of outgoing mobility (link: International/Study abroad) among AgroParisTech engineering students (mobility is mandatory in that students must spend at least three months abroad), the co-supervision of theses and international joint publications. The creation and promotion of an international culture throughout the institution also contributes to these goals.
Some of the international actions of AgroParisTech are developed in synergy with our close national partners, such as the coordinated recruitment of engineers abroad (ParisTech and Agreenium), ATHENS week (ParisTech) and the pursuit of activities and/or agreements with the University of Paris-Saclay or within the framework of our other regional sites.
AgroParisTech has established its presence on the international stage not only through its membership of representative associations such as the ICA (Association for European Life Science Universities) and themed networks (NFZ Forest.net, for example), but also by co-founding the EBU alliance. AgroParisTech is also renowned for the quality of its welcome services for international students, for which it has obtained the “Bienvenue in France” label (link: International/Come and study at AgroParisTech). AgroParisTech also has an Erasmus+ Charter for Higher Education, in line with its Erasmus+ Strategy. (link: International/European projects for education/Erasmus+ strategy)
The International and European Relations Department (DRIE) actively helps to deploy this international policy. In addition to the operational implementation of certain actions (partnerships, mobility, etc.), it provides support for all international activities within the institution (European projects, targeted collaborations, etc.) and, more broadly, helps enhance the visibility and attractiveness of AgroParisTech worldwide.
