The Make IT Agri Competition aims to focus engineering students on the issues surrounding the fight against climate change by challenging them to put new digital and robotic technologies to work to improve agricultural practices.
What does the challenge consist of? Creating and inventing new digital, computerized, and robotic tools for crop growing or livestock farming that:
- improve soil and water management;
- encourage biodiversity;
- contribute to tackling climate change.
The Make IT Agri Competition: Who Can Apply?
The Make IT Agri Competition is open to engineering students from all fields working in 2-6 person inter- or intra-institutional teams.
The Make IT Agri Competition: How Does It Work?
The Make IT Agri Competition involves two stages.
- A preselection stage
Teams download and submit applications describing their innovative project on the Competition website. Their application must describe how their project can improve the management of soil, water, and biodiversity as a way of tackling climate change.
- A final stage
A jury made up of technology and farming experts selects the participants who will move on to the final stage. Winning teams are selected after a presentation of their innovative project.
The Make IT Agri Competition: What Prizes Are Available?
Make IT Agri Competition winners can win one of the three following prizes:
- 1st prize: €3,000
- 2nd prize: €2,000
- 3rd prize: €1,500
