Going Abroad for an Internship
March 23 2022Throughout their AgroParisTech studies, students are required to complete mandatory internships in France or abroad.
Year 1 Engineering curriculum internships in a “small company that produces or processes living products” last 4 weeks and must occur in a company with fewer than 25 employees (except for service companies). Interns perform a range of different tasks involving the entire production and/or processing system. They must also understand how the underlying technical and economic mechanisms work and know how to reproduce them. Year 1 Engineering internships mainly take place in France.
Internships abroad generally occur:
-
as part of Year 2 of the Engineering curriculum (2 to 3 months as an assistant engineer)
-
as part of the final Year 3 Engineering internship or second-year master’s internship (generally 6 months). These involve working in actual engineering or junior manager positions.
Year 2 Engineering internships and final-year internships (Year 3 of the Engineering program or the second year of master’s studies) can take place in a company, a research laboratory, a cooperative, a charity, an NGO, etc., both in France and abroad.
To make it easier to find internships, AgroParisTech students are given access a portal with internship offers and a history of completed internships.
