The second year of the Engineering program is the best suited for French-speaking exchange students as it is partly made up of various elective courses, therefore allowing flexibility for students. However, students must rank their choice of fields of study (domaines in French) by order of preference and their first choice is not guaranteed due to the limited number of available spots.
The list of courses available in the second year of the Engineering program for the 2023-2024 academic year is available on SynapseS.
In the first semester, 185 hours are devoted to common core classes in the chosen field of study.
- Field of study 1: Sustainable development: production, sectors, and territories
- Field of study 2: Food Engineering, biomolecules, and energy
- Field of study 3: Environmental management and engineering
- Field of study 4: Engineering and health: humanity, bioproducts, and the environment
Our Nancy campus offers specific study tracks:
-
Field of study 1 Nancy - “Forestry” study track
-
Field of study 3, in Nancy - “Managing natural, open, and wooded environments” study track
Many electives (UC in French) are offered in the second year of the Engineering program
You can download the detailed course program for each field of study and the list of electives below in the “Useful documents” section. Most electives will still be available in 2024-2025.

We do not advise exchange students to follow AgroParisTech’s core curriculum classes (SIMM and SESG) due to their difficulty and the limited number of places available.
-
Some classes may not be open to exchange students due to the limited number of places available, including one of our fields of study (domaines in French).
-
Students must rank electives by order of preference as their first choices cannot always be guaranteed.
-
Language and sports classes in the Spring semester start on the second-to-last week of January. Other classes start in early February.
