EBU Post-Doc Network
March 23 2022Each year, the European Bioeconomy University (EBU) alliance launches an internal postdoctoral call with the aim of developing a network of postdoctoral researchers within the alliance through Horizon Europe Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions.
AgroParisTech is one of 6 prestigious member institutions in the EBU, the others being the University of Hohenheim (Germany), Wageningen University & Research (Netherlands), the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences of Vienna (BOKU – Austria), the University of Eastern Finland (UEF), and the University of Bologna (Italy).
Through the “Postdoctoral Fellowship” Marie Skłodowska-Curie action, part of the Horizon Europe European research and innovation program, we are seeking to develop a network of postdoctoral researchers within this prestigious alliance by making support available for individual projects undertaken by young Ph.D. holders and postdocs interested in traveling abroad for a two-year research stay within the EBU.
To make this possible, we have launched an internal postdoctoral call within the EBU for our young researchers. The aim is to identify potential candidates, offer them guidance on the target institution, and—if their application is selected—help them with the process of submitting their project to the European Commission.
This internal call is launched each year for a period spanning from March to July. Applications are received on a continuous basis. The same eligibility conditions apply as those for the “Postdoctoral Fellowship” action—that is, having earned one’s Ph.D. before the deadline of the European call, or having earned it less than 8 years before the deadline.
The advantages for candidates are varied:
- acquiring international research experience with one of our EBU partners;
- conducting their own research and innovation project in the field of bioeconomics;
- harnessing support from a prestigious network of institutions not only at the project submission stage, but also afterward (international visibility, networking, etc.);
- boosting their career perspectives by taking part in a unique European research experience.
The application process is simple. However, postdoctoral researchers must ensure that they are able to find a suitable supervisor in the proposed host institution. A network of Points of Contact is available to assist them in developing their project at the institution they choose.
