Karine Boquet appointed Deputy Managing Director of AgroParisTech
March 30 2023Karine Boquet has been appointed Deputy Managing Director of AgroParisTech. She was previously deputy director of environmental health, chemical products and agriculture in the French government’s Directorate-General for Risk Prevention.
She took up her position at AgroParisTech on March 1, 2023.
Having graduated from the Ecole Nationale Vétérinaire de Maisons-Alfort (ENVA veterinary school) in 1998, Karine Boquet is also a general inspector of veterinary public health (since 1999) and has a PhD in economic science from the University of Dijon.
She began her career in 2004 as deputy head of the general directorate for food in the French Ministry of Agriculture and Food (now known as the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Sovereignty) before joining the French National School of Rural Engineering, Water Resources and Forestry (ENGREF, now part of AgroParisTech) in 2009. She held the positions of Head of the Food, Health and Environment Executive (2009–2012) and then head of the joint training of trainee engineers in the Bridges, Waters and Forests Corps (2011–2015). At the same time, she was Director of the AgroParisTech Maine Center (2012–2016).
In 2016, Karine Boquet joined the French National Food Council (Conseil National de l’Alimentation or CNA) as an interministerial secretary. Her tasks there involved organizing the CNA’s contribution to the development and monitoring of public food policies (consultation, post-crisis feedback, citizen participation) to inform the work of the ministries in charge of agriculture, health, the economy and the environment.
Since 2020, Karine Boquet has been deputy director of environmental health, chemical products and agriculture in the Directorate-General for Risk Prevention within the Ministry of Ecological Transition and Territorial Cohesion.
